Join mezzo soprano / soprano Katelyn Crawford and pianist Alexander Hanysz for a selection of songs, and a piano solo, on the theme of ‘Fantasy and Fairytales’. Be transported to the lands of forests, fairies, and dreams with music from England, America and Europe, as well as contributions from Australia's own Don Kay (with text by Mike Cooper) and John Polglase. Also featuring pieces by Poland's Karol Szymanowski, England's Michael Head, Madeleine Dring, Gustav Holst and Liza Lehmann, America's Amy Beach, Samuel Barber and John Alden Carpenter, and Austria's Franz Schubert. The recital begins and ends with fairies, but explores many other worlds in between.
